James reminds us once more about how we are or are not making a difference with our Christianity. James 2:14-26 explains what the difference is of a life full of faith, yet has nothing to show forth. Christian is not just a label, but a people representing Jesus Christ.

As Christians, James is reminding us again that our religion is not based on outward performances rather on daily living out our Christian faith.

We know very little of James but what tradition has told us was that James was the physical brother of Jesus. When you read his letter, you begin to hear a little of Jesus and his upbringing. James wanted his listeners to be both spiritual and practical. He wanted you to know that when you read his letter you wouldn’t say ‘oh how nice’ rather it shows us ‘how to be nice.’
